This is a site dedicated to finding and exploring all things dental
Hi,
I’ve invented a new dental appliance, but I’m not sure how to spread this new idea. It is not my primary goal to profit from this, but I would like to be recognized as the inventor. My dentist has constructed the first prototype from my design. I’m not personally involved in the field of dentistry, so what would be a prudent course of action?
HAVE THE IDEA PATENTED AND GET PROOF ON PAPER THAT IT WAS YOUR IDEA AND THE DATE.
My 11 year old just got braces and they are really hurting her. I gave her Advil but it doesn’t seem to help her. Also tried Orajel on the gums. What have others done to help ease the pain?
To be perfectly honest, when I had braces, I just dealt with it. I had Advil, too, but that never seemed to work. Whenever I had bands (rubber bands stretching from top to bottom), I would take little breaks from them as they seemed to hurt the worst. Basically, just give your daughter food that she doesn’t have to chew at all (pretty much just soup). Even if something is soft, just the action of biting down can be painful, some things more than others. Unfortunately, it’s going to be like this for a few days to a week after every appointment. Just keep telling her what a beautiful smile she’s going to have once this is all over
Good luck!
